What’s Next for GLC?
On Wednesday, May 13, Tulsa City Council voted to move management of the $5 million in Improve Our Tulsa Funds 3 funding for the Kirkpatrick Heights Greenwood Master Plan from Partner Tulsa to the Tulsa Economic Development Corporation (TEDC Creative Capital). The Greenwood Legacy Corporation (GLC) is thankful for residents and partners who showed up to speak in support of protecting the funds for the intended purpose of the master plan. We are grateful that City Council voted to prioritize funding for the master plan, and GLC is committed to ensuring the funds are used for the plan.
What does this mean for GLC, a community development corporation? It means that we have an additional partner in this work with Rose Washington and TEDC. Rose and her team have done quality development work in North Tulsa, and we look forward to working with TEDC, TDA, Partner Tulsa, the City of Tulsa, and other stakeholders to make this vision a reality.
